Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences, and let us understand how the site is used. We also use similar technologies such as pixels and local storage; we call all of them “cookies” in this policy.
This policy explains what we use them for. How we handle personal data more generally is covered in our Privacy Policy.
2. Who sets them
- First-party cookies — set by icarus-insights.com.
- Third-party cookies — set by services we embed, such as analytics or chat. Those providers receive data directly and handle it under their own policies.
3. What we use
| Category | What it does | Examples | Needs consent? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes the site work — security, load balancing, remembering your cookie choices. | Session cookies, consent-preference cookie | No |
| Functional | Remembers preferences and powers embedded features such as live chat and appointment booking. | Live chat widget, booking form, CRM session cookie | Yes |
| Analytics | Tells us which pages are visited and how people move through the site, so we can improve it. | Google Analytics | Yes |
| Advertising | Measures campaign performance and may be used to show you relevant ads on other platforms. | Meta Pixel (Facebook, Instagram), Google advertising cookies | Yes |
Third-party vendors, including Meta and Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
The Meta Pixel tells Meta that you visited this site and which pages you viewed, so we can measure our advertising and reach people with similar interests. If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, Meta may connect that visit to your account. It loads only if you accept advertising cookies, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Our CRM sets a first-party cookie that links a form submission or chat message to the visit it came from, so we can respond in context and avoid asking you for the same information twice.
4. Your choices
- On this site — you can accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit, and change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link.
- In your browser — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
- Google Analytics — you can opt out across all sites using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Google ad personalisation — manage it at adssettings.google.com.
- Meta ad preferences — manage how Meta uses your activity at accountscenter.facebook.com/ad_preferences.
If you are in California, rejecting advertising cookies is also how you opt out of “sharing” under the CPRA. See our Privacy Policy.
5. How long they last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them — typically from a few days up to two years, depending on the cookie.
6. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the technologies we use change. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
